I had an awful experience with these people at the Richmond branch.. I would not do it over again and I do not recommend that you do business with them.
The very beginning of this experience was negative. I filled out the online information and purchased a plan and NONE of the information that I had typed in was saved in a file. I had to call in and reached someone named Renee who took my info manually and started a file. She said that this happens sometimes. This was the beginning of my sorrows with this outfit. My mother’s cremation was held up for at least a week while the death certificate went back and forth between mom’s doctor and the Society’s Medical Examiner. After she was finally cremated, her remains and death certificates were supposed to be mailed to me. They weren’t. I called and lit a fire under someone name Tabatha and finally got the death certificates mailed, but mom’s remains did not get mailed. I called again and talked to Renee again and she assured me that mom’s remains would be mailed that day. They weren’t. A few days later I called again and got Renee again and she said that mom’s remains were not mailed and giggled. I told her that I did not think the matter was funny. She agreed but I could tell that she didn’t give a crap. So, she again assured me that the remains would be mailed that day. At this writing, I’m still waiting.
I might have saved a little bit of money by using this outfit, but looking back it wasn’t worth the stress and aggravation that they caused. I advise you to stay away. Use a funeral place that’s close to home for cremation and one that is attentive. These people are uncaring and unresponsive. No way would I do it again.
