The folks at W S Clancy Funeral Home were professional and courteous to my family in dealing with the death of my father. They provided the services as promised in a timely fashion. Be forewarned, however, that their costs for a simple direction cremation - no casket, no viewing - are in my opinion quite high - well over four thousand dollars. That is steep considering the fact that what they pay to the crematory who does the actual cremation itself is just a few hundred dollars. That's quite a mark-up for the funeral home. In hindsight we wish we had done more research, but we were not thinking clearly in the fog of grief.

Funeral homes and cremation providers offer a wide range of services to assist families with funeral arrangements. Full-service funeral homes offer everything from burial services to cremation services. They often sell caskets, urns, and other memorial products. Their cremation prices are generally higher than direct cremation providers.

Direct cremation providers often operate out of simpler offices and work directly with the crematory to provide lower-cost cremation services for families in the community. Since they have lower overhead costs, cremation costs and immediate or simple burials many be less expensive than full-service funeral homes.
